Packaging Design

  • Kalorosa is a line of hot sauces that takes pride in its unique flavor combinations.

  • The title is derived from the word “calor” meaning ‘heat’ in Spanish.

  • The visual design for this brand is bold, punchy, and bright, with ornate decorations inspired by the intricate patterns of Otomi embroidery.

  • The logo is typographic and symbol driven. It calls for symmetry with graphic line work helping to emphasize as well as balance the typeface.

The fusion of different, unique flavors will draw a bold, creative audience. The mission of the brand is to create the trendiest new hot sauce that not only packs the heat, but also curates clever and unique flavor combinations. The packaging design aims to emulate a new fresh product that will enhance any meal.

By designing one large box that encases all three hot sauces, the customer is intrigued by seeing all three different flavor variations presented together. The sauces are framed within this box by sporadic, decorative graphic elements that should excite the customer and make opening the box an experience.

Darkfield is described as a ‘multi-sensory theme park.’ It is made up of four shipping containers that involve immersive 360 degree audio and visual experience. In an innovative harmony of theatre and technoloigy, the traveling Darkfleid attracrion prudes itself on its uniqueness and mystery. My design objective was to hone in on this element of mystery and both confuse and intrigue the audience. As Darkfield is something very new and unique to the entertainment/attraction indusrty, I wanted to leave the audience with a mysterios call-to-action and a hunger to find out more.

I wanted to use symbolism to give away ‘hints’ as to what each attraction entails. I felt it was important not to give away too much information about the experience that is Darkfield, as part of what makes it so popular is the element of mystery and the strong desire to learn first-hand what exactly Darkfield entails. At the same time, however, I wanted to offer enough information to catch the viewer’s attention and leave them wanting to find out more. Using Adobe Photoshop, minimalistic, sleek design was the driving inspiration and felt like the most appropriate way to accomplish this
